POINT CLOUD VIEWING
The first step is viewing the point Cloud. There are many free viewers that will allow limited functionality to view and work with point clouds.
Autodesk ReCap is a free download and can be used to view, edit and perform basic measurements. The RCP or RCS files exported out of ReCap can then be directly imported into most Autodesk packages to begin your modeling or analysis processes.
Leica’s Truview is similar, and Leica has portable versions of the software, so you can share the file on a USB, and anyone can view it without needing to install any software. Truview, like Recap, allows you to navigate, trim, measure and perform some simple analytical processes. We find Truview to be an overall better viewing experience.
There are endless options for online cloud hosting and viewing. A quick online search will return many results. The leaders in the industry are companies like Prevu3D, Cintoo, and Veerum. There are many others, and some research will need to be done to meet your exact needs.
